Seaweed sheets (yaki nori) are the key to creating delicious sushi rolls (maki) of all types at home! Futomaki, translated as “fat rolled sushi,” are the larger rolls of rice and many types of fillings wrapped in nori and then sliced into bite-sized pieces. Hosomaki are smaller rolls made of rice and only a single filling, such as tuna or cucumber. Temaki are hand rolls, made by wrapping a sheet of nori into a cone shape around the rice and fillings.
When it comes to sushi, don’t worry about perfect form. You don’t have to be a professional sushi chef to enjoy sushi at home – it’s all about the taste, and having fun! You can also use nori as a garnish or flavoring in noodle preparations and soups.
