If you’ve eaten at a Japanese restaurant, you’ve likely enjoyed tempura shrimp. Now you can enjoy this popular item at home! These frozen, pre-fried traditional style tempura shrimp are delightfully crunchy on the outside and sweet and tender on the inside. Just bake, fry or air fry from frozen. Feature as an appetizer with a dipping sauce like ponzu or chili sauce, or use in any sushi roll that calls for tempura shrimp. Each box contains 30 pieces of shrimp, and each piece of shrimp is individually frozen for convenience so you can cook a few or a lot!
Although most people think of raw fish when they think of sushi, some of the tastiest items used for nigiri sushi and sushi rolls are actually cooked! Our shrimp tails (ebi sushi) are cleaned, trimmed and cooked butterflied white shrimp tails that are ready to be eaten. They also provide excellent visual appeal.

Wild Mexican shrimp are among the most sought after shrimp in the world for their superior taste and firm texture. These raw IQF (individually quick frozen or “blast” frozen) shrimp are all natural and chemical free which results in a low moisture level to provide maximum yield with minimum shrink during cooking. For your convenience, each shrimp has been peeled and deveined and the head has been removed. The tail remains for culinary presentation.
16/20 is a size indicator of the number of shrimp you will receive per pound. This is a typical average sized shrimp that’s ideal for any application, from shrimp cocktails and ceviche, to deep frying, adding to pastas or stir fry, or preparing for a salad or sandwich or any number of other dishes! Each bag totals 2lbs.
The Fishery
Our shrimp are responsibly harvested from the central and lower regions of the Sea of Cortez by artisanal fishermen who work together in co-ops, or cooperativos. Shrimp are previously frozen at time of harvest to preserve peak freshness. Nearly all shrimp marketed as “fresh” have been handled in this manner. Truly fresh shrimp appears far more translucent than thawed shrimp, and its highly perishable nature makes it rarely available. Previously frozen fresh shrimp should smell mildly of the sea, but not like iodine or ammonia.
