Traditionally popular in the south, a seafood boil is a simple one-pot meal that’s packed full of flavor. Typically, the dish features one or more varieties of shellfish, like crab, shrimp, or crawfish. It also usually includes potatoes, corn on the cob and smoked sausage. We created our box based on seafood you can find in our San Diego fish market and even threw in a San Diego-crafted Cajun seasoning! What you get:
  • Baja “Broken” Shrimp (2 lbs) wild caught*
  • Baja Callo Perla Scallops (2.2 lbs) wild caught
  • Baja Blue Crab Clusters (1 lb) wild caught
  • Jonah Crab Claws (1 lb) wild caught
  • 8 oz Rub It In Cajun Seasoning
* Broken shrimp refers to a selection that we offer in our market. These Mexican wild shrimp are peeled and deveined and most are nearly whole; however, they may be missing a tail or small piece to the processing machinery. We can’t sell them as whole, so we discount them and sell them as “broken”. Our local customers know these shrimp are a super deal! Other ingredients you’ll need:
  • 8 medium red potatoes, halved
  • 2 large onions, cut into wedges
  • 6-8 ears fresh corn, shucked and halved crosswise
  • (Optional) 1-2 lbs smoked sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Salt to taste
To make the seafood boil: In a 12-quart stockpot, combine 4 quarts of water, salt and a 1/2 cup of Rub In In Cajun Seasoning, and bring to a boil over high heat. Add onions, corn, and sausage, if using, and cook for 10-15 minutes. Add potatoes and cook for about 8 minutes. Add shrimp, crab clusters and crab claws and cook for 2 minutes. Add scallops and cook about a minute more. Drain cooking liquid and pour contents of pot into a large serving bowl or platter, or onto a paper covered table. Sprinkle with more Rub It In Cajun Seasoning if desired. Garnish with lemon and lime.
